This iReport is part of an assignment:
Severe weather |
Harmattan in Imo
With the previous warnings over the air waves concerning the severe weather conditions due to climatic change and depletion of Ozon layer, one can only expect what we are experiencing in today’s’ weather, The Harmattan in Imo. Imo is made up of 27 local governments, mainly of rural communities. Having touched all parts of Imo I can say the weather effects are the same, there is nothing severe about the weather all year round. Although for the first time in history, two local government areas located near the River banks experienced flood disaster. But to the glory of God no life was lost and they received prompt government and public spirited individual assistance to over come the ordeal.
However, the weather condition today is Harmattan. Harmattan in Imo is quite unpredictable. It is commonly marked with descent of chilly dews of the night and ascent of chilly dews of the morning, giving rise to scanty windy conditions, which ushers in dusty and hazy evening but with harsh sunny afternoons.
Presently, the Rochas Okorocha led administration in the State embarked on massive rural road rehabilitation, which has left every rural corner dusty. This is where life in the rural area differs from life in the townships because Hammatan in Imo is very enjoyable in the city. You have cool weather and life seems so easy.
