Florida Law "Rewards" Accused Killers?
Dear Sir or Madam:
Below is a copy of my letter to my grandson's representatives in Florida asking them to close a loophole. You may find this story newsworthy. Particularly since one of the lawyers my ex-wife hired is
the co-author of the statute and is now misusing the purpose of the law for personal financial gain.
Also, quoted below is the loophole:
FLORIDA STATUTE 63.082 (6)(a): "If a parent executes a consent for placement of a minor with an adoption entity or qualified prospective adoptive parents and the minor child is in the custody of the department, but parental rights have not yet been terminated, the
adoption consent is valid, binding, and enforceable by the court."

Dear Honorable Members:
My son, Kristofer Allen Gould, is awaiting trial for premeditated first degree murder of his girlfriend, Jorgete Acarie, while she slept only inches away from their 2 year old son, baby-Kris, in the same bed. It is incomprehensible to me the trauma baby-Kris experienced on August 26, 2012, while he watched his father shoot his mother (14) times. My ex-wife, Diann Allen, is now seeking private adoption utilizing a loophole in Florida Statute 63.082 (6) (a). She barely knows him and has only seen him approximately (4) times prior to the shooting. My grandson has been under the care of his aunt, Viviane Acarie, where he is thriving and recovering very well. This is the only family he knows. Because of the positive results, Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF) is recommending he stay permanently with Ms. Acarie and her fiance, Mike Abel. I agree 100% with DCF's recommendation because I have witnessed his happiness and bonding there. Furthermore, Jorgete Acarie had made it known that if anything happened to her, she wanted her sister, Viviane Acarie, to raise her child.
When my ex-wife and I divorced in 1986, she did not challenge me for custody of our two children who were ages (9) and (7) at the time. In 1992, after much pressure from his mother, our son asked to live with his mother and I reluctantly agreed. He was 12 years old at the time. This is when his life went into a downward spiral. I am certain that our grandson's life will be a blueprint of his father's life, should he be raised by Diann Allen.

There are numerous other reasons why she should not be allowed to adopt our grandson and I'm willing to discuss them with you in length, if you so desire.
Obviously, the purpose of this law is being misused. IT'S LUDICROUS THAT A FATHER CAN KILL THE MOTHER OF HIS SON, WHILE THE BABY WATCHED AND WAS IN DANGER TOO, AND NOW HE HAS THE EXCLUSIVE RIGHT TO DETERMINE WHO WILL RAISE HIM. If this law supersedes DCF, then why spend tax payer dollars on this department who is being silenced? This law clearly inhibits their purpose. Also, what message is being sent to the public? That it's okay to kill the other parent, so that you alone can determine the future of your child or children.
To uproot baby-Kris from the family he knows is more trauma that he does NOT need. Furthermore, what if my ex-wife passes away in a few years, what happens to him then? Another uprooting and traumatic event? How much trauma can a young boy withstand? A picture speaks a thousand words; my grandson's photo is attached.
Please intervene / fix this loophole before next hearing on February 14, 2013 My grandson needs you. Thank you.
