    Inside China's political landmark

In spring of 2011, I had the privilege of attending a 100th anniversary celebration of one of the premier universities in China. The celebration was attended by thousands including President Hu Jintao inside the Great Hall of the People, a national landmark in China. Opened in 1959, it remains as the seat of political power, a place for the National People's Congress or the Chinese parliament.

Never have I imagined that I would be able to go inside this important and heavily guarded landmark, not to mention witnessing the Chinese President addressed the large audience.
