Army likely to upgrade Army Good Will School Aishmuqam
General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps, Lt Gen Om Prakash, who visted South Kashmir’s Aishmuqam area and interacted with the locals during a ‘Awami Mila’ program organized by Army’s 3 Rashtriya Rifles under the aegis of 1 Sector RR.
GoC interacted with a whole spectrum of people including the sarpanchs, taxi operators, prominent Gujjars of the area and some children of Army Goodwill School along with their parents. On the occasion gathered people including parents and children demanded up gradation of Army Good Will School to 12th standard.
Giving a patience hearing to the issues highlighted to him he assured continuous support by the army to people in solving their problems. He importantly remarked school up gradation issue and is likely expected that school will be upgraded in near future.
Interacting with the local Gujjar leaders, General asked them to guide the youth to follow the path of peace and progress. People of the area asked the Gen to facilitate recruitment of young boys from Pahalgam valley who off late have shown tremendous interest in joining army as a profession. The Gen promised to do whatever possible to facilitate recruitment of the local boys in Army. He also interacted with the students of Army Goodwill Public School students who have been selected for republic day parade at New Delhi
