“Prosecuting Casey Anthony” Actress Finds Verdict “Frustrating”
The highly publicized first-degree murder trial of Anthony ended in July 2011 with her acquittal. At the time, Ramirez was out of the country filming a TV series but remembers strong feelings about the case. She says, “Honestly I didn't understand why it wasn't wrapped up sooner. Of course, I'm not an attorney, but I thought it seemed obvious [Casey Anthony] was to blame but I really did want to know the truth about what happened and why. It's so unfortunate that we may never know.”
While working on the movie, Ramirez says that her “opinion [about the case] became stronger” and she found herself more and more frustrated that with “all of the evidence presented [Casey Anthony] was still acquitted.” Lowe has given interviews echoing Ramirez’ sentiments.
The on screen husband and wife have worked together before, albeit under much different circumstances. Several years ago, Ramirez guest starred as a pregnant patient on Lowe’s series Dr. Vegas. “I remember having a scene with him where he was doing an ultrasound on my stomach,” she recalls. “Trying to have a normal conversation in between takes while you are lying on a table in a bra, with Rob Lowe, was just hilarious to me. He was very polite and respectful though.”
Next up, Ramirez dons a uniform as Officer Riley Dunn in the third season of Body of Proof starring Dana Delaney. The show returns Tuesday, Feb. 5th at 10 PM on ABC. Prosecuting Casey Anthony premieres Saturday, January 19th at 8/7 Central on Lifetime.
