Recent graduate unemployment
Approximately 50% of recent college graduates are unable to find a job or a job that requires a college degree. They are now defaulting on their college debt at a higher rate than credit cards. Their debt that they have amassed is now the largest form of debt in the nation.
Furthermore, these recent college graduates are not paying into social security, which is further exacerbating the Social Security fiasco.
We NEED to get recent graduates working before we can even think about investing in higher education. College graduates from the last few years are quickly becoming dependent on the government. Let's be proactive. Let's create tax incentives for companies to hire recent graduates. Nothing good will come of this situation if we allow them to continue their dependency on the government. Let's get them working and paying taxes.
