This iReport is part of an assignment:
Lance Armstrong speaks out |
Its not just about the Cycling
Yes, I still wear my Livestrong bracelet. Yes, I do realize he probably cheated. Yes, he may be the biggest fraud in my generation. This all may be true, but regardless of these circumstances, people tent to push aside the massive amount of money raised and countless lives that were impacted. The progress that he helped make in cancer research through awareness and some fundraising may eventually lead to a cure, and that cannot be overshadowed by sport, and that cannot be forgotten. It is because of this that I still wear my Livestrong bracelet. I will still remember his cycling victories as great because they were just that, everyone else cheated, he is singled out unfairly because he did something great. Cheating isn't the premise behind the bracelet, its the fight against cancer and overcoming obstacles in life.
