    Lance Armstrong speaks out

    Still wear it because I still believe...


    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Care1414 says, 'That's me wearing my Livestrong bracelet on my left wrist. I think it used to be a fad when Lance Armstrong was winning all of the cycling races and now it comes down to people really caring about the cause and fighting cancer. I believe people support for a variety of reasons, but the biggest one I hope is because they care about finding a cure for cancer. I was one of those people that liked to wear it when they first came out because, yes, cancer is a terrible disease, but everyone else had them too. And now I have cancer and it means more to me than just a fashion statement. It's how I want to live my life and to be an example for other cancer-fighters.'

    I need to look down and have a reminder that I have a reason to hope. I have a reason to believe. And I have a reason to have faith that I will be healed. When I look at my Livestrong bracelet, I don't think of Lance Armstrong, per se. I think of all the survivors out there who inspire me to live each day and live well.
