I am usually a good judge of character however on this one I was way off. Lance Armstrong once represented all that was strong and good. As an athlete myself and with my two youngest sons who are also athletes, Lance was what you should be. He lied and he lied a lot. As I said previously there were a lot of people that believed those lies. People believed in him coming back from cancer and winning all those Tour de France yellow jerseys. He won them on the back of those lies. He won by cheating. I have no respect for him now and will never wear his bracelet again. For him to use Oprah Winfrey for his admission is just plain weird to me. He should just admit it and disappear from public life. He should assist us in forgetting him as now he will be just that: a forgotten, cheating, fallen athlete. He can no longer be called a winner much less a hero and a role model. For cancer survivors everywhere there are still everyday heros, real heros, for them to draw hope and inspiration from. If I had a chance to speak with Lance I'd ask only one question: Was your fall from grace worth all the lies and the cheating you perpetrated just to be the best?
