Can Obama outlast Mugabe?
The book entitled: Can Obama outlast Mugabe, details how Mugabe survived the economic and political turmoil that gripped the Southern African country from 2003 when the country had no cash and no fuel and hyperinflation which reached record levels in 2008.
The book is available at: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0099TS5XW
It shows how Mugabe outlasted his main rivals Tony Blair of Britain, John Howard of Australia and George Bush of the United States even though he was considered the third most evil man in the world after Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.
It also shows how Mugabe survived even when he had given up like after the 2008 elections when he agreed with Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai that he would concede defeat the following day.
The book even offers an alternative explanation of the August 2003 blackout that affected nearly 50 million people in the Eastern United States and Canada.
The book was written by Charles Rukuni a Zimbabwean journalist/trainer with more than 30 years in the field. Rukuni was Investigations Manager with the Forum for African Investigative Reporters.
One of the transnational investigations that he coordinated and edited- Pirates, smugglers and corrupt tycoons- was one of the seven finalists in the 2011 Daniel Pearl Awards.
He also coordinated and edited another transnational investigation: Killing Soccer in Africa which focussed on Africa’s poor performance in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
The investigation is now a case study in the Global Investigative Journalism handbook published by UNESCO last year.
