Woodland Pond Residents Gave Local Children a Merry Christmas
“I donate food to the Family of New Paltz every month, so I’m excited I was able to donate Christmas gifts too," said Barbara Church, Woodland Pond resident. “Donating has been a big part of my life and we residents like to feel connected to the community as a whole. It helps us take the focus off ourselves and keeps us grounded.”
The residents contacted Family of New Paltz to see how they could help this season. When they learned of the family devastated by the hurricane, they immediately wanted to provide assistance. Woodland Pond residents also collected gifts for another family who recently lost a loved one.
“We were so pleased at how excited our residents were to be part of this great project,” said Bob Seidman, executive director for Woodland Pond. “They are always instrumental in helping the community at large, and I know they were especially happy to be able to help these kids.”
Family of New Paltz is a place where people in need come to find food, clothing, shelter, child care, and seek help from domestic violence. FAMILY has been helping people in New York State for 40 years and has Walk In Centers in Ellenville, New Paltz, and Woodstock. To donate to Family of New Paltz, call (845) 331-7080
