From Tunisia with Love ~ Carthage ~

Carthage or Qart Hadasht ( the real name) means 'the new city' or 'the new capital' was built in 814 BC by the Phoenician settlers.

There is also the legend (I like it better :) ) about how Carthage was founded by the Tyre princess Elissa (Didon).

This princess was called Didon because she travelled a lot. She escaped her city (Tyre in Lebanon) and came to north Africa.

Well I talk about her in another IReport because :
    1/ She is a woman :p
2/ The legend is very entertaining

This city expanded to an economic empire in noth Africa an south Europe and Carthaginians had to face Romans at some point in history.
