    Bangkok: Pongsapat Campaigning for Change

Pol Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen is a virtual unknown in the expanding politics of Bangkok but a hard-working figure in the police force.

Pongsapat is a Pheu Thai Party candidate for the much-awaited governor election who seeks to introduce a transparent and accountable government for the capital of Thailand. He stands against chief-rival, Sukhumbhand Paribatra who hails from the Democrat Party.

The Bangkok administration has been burden with accusations of urban planning inefficiencies, growing urban poverty and financial irregularities, while the Sukhumbhand and his senior officers are facing charges of the unapproved extension of the city's mass transit system.

It is the hope of Bangkok's residents and business sector that changes happen for the betterment. Pongsapat has expressed his campaign commitment to see such changes happen with the cooperation of all Thais.
