The experience of watching dawn break over the misty Cappadocian valley from a height of 1,000 feet as 100 other hot air-balloons glide ahead can only be described in one word - surreal. With its bizarre ant-hill like structures (aka fairy chimneys) and valleys that look like melting vanilla cones, Cappadocia seems like the perfect setting for a Brothers’ Grimm fairy tale. This was stop number two on our two-girl Turkish adventure and our two days here were simply breath-taking. And so was the hour long flight which ended with a champagne toast at 7 am and hide-and-seek among the folds as we helped pack up the balloon.
