Gun control debate: Background checks
President Obama' s Gun Control
In the latest Gun Control Debate, President Obama has released to the public just exactly what he wanted to be banned. In this article I'll be giving some opinions on this topic. Now in no doubt do many people feel that this is infringing on our amendment "The Right to Bear Arms," and yes, technically it is. But, there is a purpose behind him doing this. I think that this is a good thing to a certain extent. Am I straddling the fence? No, just like my fellow co-worker said, "Its not the gun that shoots, and kills a person, its the person behind it." This is true in all matter, but there is no exact way to figure out who is capable of owning a high-powered rifle, and who is not. Therefore, I see that this Gun Control is beneficial to the United States in many ways. Here lately you can look on the media almost every day and there has been a shooting is some part of the region, this Gun Control is of course not going to completly solve the problem with these shootings but of course it will limit it. Another person adds, "There will always be a way for a criminal to get ahold of a gun no matter what brand or type it is." Unfortunately their is no way to keep the criminals from getting ahold of these guns, but by limiting the amount of bullets allowed in the magazines, means less bullets to shoot something or someone with. Overall, this Gun Control will help to increase the security in our communities and in our schools as well. With this Gun Control every gun will have to be registered, which means its ran through the local government, and background checks will be used as well. This will cut down on the amount of criminals allowed to buy, sell, or trade these weapons. Im Lucas with CNN iReport.
