This iReport is part of an assignment:
Your 'Aha' weight-loss moments |
Weigh Your Soul and Your Pounds
It has come to a point where I seriously need to make a change for my health. I have begun a weight loss program and it didn’t take long to have my first “aha” moment. When I stepped on the scale it flashed a number as if it was yelling at me. The number was way more than I knew, and that I wanted to know.
That moment, I learned something about life. Just like I hadn't stepped on the scale to reflect on my weight, sometimes, I don't step on the scale in ways that aren't physical. Sometimes, I find myself becoming someone I don't want to be as a person, all because I haven't made the effort to step on the scale and check my "weight". I think this is how you go from skinny to not so skinny, and from who you are to who you don't want to be.
Not only do I want to watch my weight physically, but I also want to keep an eye on the things that are attaching to me outside of the physical. Whether it is extra stress, selfish decisions, or mixed up priorities. I want to start stepping on the life scale a little more. This way I don't wake up one morning, step on that scale, and see who I have really become.
Use this dieting time to reflect on more than just your body. Usually the negative condition of who we are causes us to become negative in the way we eat, get active, and treat ourselves. So get healthy physically and beyond.
