MLK Day: 1 Day of Love, 364 Days of Hate

My name is Byron Thomas and America; I truly believe if God had allowed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to live to see this day, he would die from a heart attack. His heart would be crushed by what he would see happening in my generation, the direction this country is headed, and what's happening in the Black American community. We all know his famous "I Had a Dream" speech, but people need to understand that it applies to everyone and every race. Dr. King would not like the direction the Black Community is headed in either. Black men are not taking the responsibility as a man to raise a family. Instead the rate of divorce and single mothers are increasing. The rap music industry is getting out of hand with all the disrespect toward women, sagging of the pants, violence, and use of the N word. I truly believe Dr. King would hate that there are two forms of the N word. No one should say either form of the N word and I don't care what color you are or who you are. Also, I don't believe he would be happy with the current suppose to be black leaders of today, because I feel like they are just getting richer and not doing what Dr. King did every single day. Dealing with the rich and poor, I do believe Dr. King would address it. He would tell the rich how great it is to give and help out people who are struggling, but he would tell poor people to work and better yourself, so you won't have to depend on government programs. Remember, the more we take from the federal government the higher our debt will increase. We give this man a holiday, statues, monuments, and just about everything but we still don't carry out his dream. So basically all his hard work has went to waste. Personally I'm not afraid to grab the torch from him and do my best to run the race that he started. I know I wouldn't touch the surface of what he has accomplished, but I can do something. Are you willing to spread the love and truly kill people with kindness? Actions always speak louder than words. Kill People with Kindness and May God Bless America
