    The floating lantern ceremony

Tonight I have chance to witness the floating lantern ceremony specially held for thousand monks who make a pilgrimage to Wat Bangpla. These monks walk on bare feets from Wat Dhammakaya in Pathum Thani province. Their journey will pass through 7 provinces in central Thailand (Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Sakhon, Suphan Buri, Ayutthaya and Bangkok). This is to visit and pay homage to 6 important places. Today they reach Wat Bangpla, their 4th destination. They walked nearly 300 kilometer so far. Wat Bangpla is in Nakhon Pathom province. I'm really happy to be here because I love to see lot of monks and I can see beautiful floating lantern (Kratong) made for the monks to float it along the river nearby the temple to pay homage to The Lord Buddha.
