SURF GIVES BACK TO OUR NEIGHBORS

The Shores United Relief Fund began as a Facebook Page tagged Restore the Shore with a vision of two Jersey Shore natives who wanted to assist displaced families and small mom & pop businesses with rebuilding throughout the Jersey Shore's fourteen counties.

This Saturday, January 26, 2013, Mike DiGiacomo and Ryan Kurek, and their staff of volunteers begin the first, of hopefully many events where they will assist families in need. SURF has allocated $75,000 to be distributed to three dozen families, at Martells in Point Pleasant Beach.

SURF has been endorsed by Jersey Shore native and UFC fighter Frankie Edgars. Numerous businesses have stepped up to sponsor fundraising events, merchandise development and distribution of supplies.

SHORESUNITED.ORG is a website with up-to-date information on how to get involved, as well as events and merchandise for sale. T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, decals, custom surfboards and bikes are all part of the project.

In addition, several organizations have stepped up to assist SURF with their efforts. 100% of all monies raised go back to assisting families and businesses. Brearley High School in Kennilworth,NJ, under the leadership of Danielle Wilkenson, designed limited edition shirts to sell.
