To lip sync or not to lip sync? That is the question...

So...supposedly Beyoncé lip synced the National Anthem.

    Is it true?

Let me give you a little insight into live performances...a good majority are tracked. Meaning not only are the instruments pre-recorded, but in many cases so are the vocals.

When I performed in Branson, most shows were tracked. And those you saw onstage either lip synced to their own voice, or they were lip syncing to a studio musician's voice, like mine.

Now when I listened to Beyoncé rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, I thought the music sounded tracked, but she was singing live on the podium. Or most likely, was singing along with the tracked instrumental and vocal.

    She was definitely singing.
But whether it was what the audience actually heard is another thing all together.

But I'm sure those around her, like the President, were hearing her live. :)
