    Going back 300 years

    The only thing between 300 years ago is not the boat or the canal, but the tire is the give away that this is a current picture. Other than that, life in parts of China is much the same as 300 years ago. LIfe is still nasty, brutish and short.
    Now the cities of course are modern, and big and lit up and smoggy. A photo does not always reveal the entire truth does it?
