    Massive AT&T U verse outage

AT&T customers from Texas to North Carolina and all points in between have been experiencing a total loss of Internet, Phone and TV service since Monday. It appears to have started in the Texas area and slowly moved its way North and East.
AT&T's Twitter page merely states that "Some Customers may be experiencing an outage in Some areas". But the affect is far more reaching than that.
At one point on Tuesday, thousands of customers received an Email stating services had been restored. Yet moments later, they were down again.
AT&T's own forums are flooded with angry customers who just want AT&T to acknowledge the scope of the outage (http://forums.att.com/t5/Features-and-How-To/U-verse-outage-what-s-going-on/td-p/3407509), yet AT&T remains silent.
Some experts suggest this could be a denial of service attack; but with so little information coming out of AT&T, it is hard to nail down the problem.
One thing is certain, a lot of people who normally work from a home office are scrambling to find wifi spots to work from, or have resorted to mobile hot spots.
One has to wonder how long this will last.
