    Amazon Creatures

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     perutrip photographed Amazonian wildlife in the Northern Amazon Basin in Peru, back in August 2012. He says it is hard to narrow down the most fascinating animal in the Amazon. 'The dolphin picture is fascinating to me... because I hadn't seen fresh water dolphins before and its so hard to get a good picture. You just have to guess a direction and click,' he said. 'The highlight of visiting the Amazon is the animals and being in an environment that isn't controlled and manipulated by humans,' he said. 'It's a bit uneasy, not knowing if a big snake, caiman, spider, or maybe even jaguar is watching you, but it's unbelievably rewarding to experience the most diverse ecosystem and food chain on the planet.'

The first image was featured as CNN's Travel Photo of the Day for December 11, 2014.
