    Women in combat: Your take

    i dont think so...

as a combat vet with over 10 yrs in an infantry unit i dont believe women should be allowed into said MOS's. certainly if the physical standards are not the same as for men. you dont want to be in a firefight and someone not be able to hold their own. yes i know and have seen women in similiar roles while serving in iraq. but we also have to consider the emotional impact a female soldiers death would have not only on her fellow soldiers. but how will our country and media react if all of a sudden we start losing women left and right due to hostile actions? and yes i know our branches of services has lost women in the past. im certainly not against equality among the sexes. but you better step-up and better be able to keep up. plus on this note how many women will actually enroll in said MOS's? and then how many will actually complete the required training? im not saying that none can. but just how many will be totally all out committed to this role? plus i agree with other comments. more females will lead to more relationships on deployments. the military already has enough problems with this. lets don't add to it. plus the emotional impact that combat can have on someone. yeah i know theres a handful of women who will say yes they can do this and keep up. more power to ya. but this is just how i feel. sorry this is just me rambling on.... but i really dont agree with allowing this to happen.
