Ricky, born and raised in Wellington, Florida, starting playing drums at the early age of 7. Over the past two years Ricky has released over 100 videos, acquiring more than 125,000 subscribers and 25 million views to his credit. This YouTube phenom brings his extraordinary drumming talent and infectious personality to the group.
David, aka DMF, was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Seattle, Washington. He is a classically trained singer who brings his rich and powerful vocals, along with his writing, guitars and production talents to the band.
Jose, growing up in Lima, Peru, has lived in Argentina, Venezuela and Mexico, eventually residing in Atlanta, Georgia. He studied guitar from the age of 13 and brings his exceptional playing and extraordinary passion to the band.
In keeping with the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, their first album offers a diverse blend of their individual styles and musical experience. The collaborative effort produced songs that range from intimate heartfelt to humorous and fun, to hard driving rock with clean and edgy instrumentals. But above all, the the album was completely produced, written, recorded and mixed by the band members themselves!
King the Kid spent several months locked away in the serenity of the beautiful Cascade mountains of Oregon, intently focused on developing their chemistry and honing their creative efforts to produce works of which they’re extremely proud. With this first album under their belt, the band’s goal is to tour extensively and to share their music with the world.
Their debut album, appropriately named “Start Something” is due for release on December 20, 2012.
King the Kid, a band to watch for in the future.
