My daughter is one a the female soldiers pictured in the stories regarding the ban lifted on females being allowed into combat MOS's. Her name is Cristine Gallagher Terhune and she currently with the 472nd MP company stationed at Ft. Wainwright Alaska. She was deployed from April 2010 to April 2011 in Afghanistan. She was with the 64th MP Company out of Ft. Hood Tx and her squad was combat support for the 101st Airborne division. She was one of only two females at COP Fortress in the Kunar Province. Her job was the gunner and her weapon was the MK19 Grenade launcher. She went through many firefights and proved herself in combat over and over again. I am so very proud of her and feel that her story needs to be told.
