    Women in combat: Your take

    Woman Serving in Combat

Honestly, I fully support this. If a woman wants to serve in the military, she makes just as much of a sacrifice as a man would. If she wants to be in the 'front lines' why not? Keep her to the same standards as everyone else (it's insulting otherwise) and get over it. As a female working on becoming an Army Officer, the whole argument about how a woman can't handle certain jobs is stupid. Woman do not need protecting. It's not like suddenly women are going to be forced to be grunts. It'll be a choice, like the men have, and if they choose it, respect that.
I know so many contracted females that are so much better at PT and leading than the men. The men who work with them would even say so. Many of them would rather have those women next to them then some of the men who can just mosey on in because of the junk in their pants.
Furthermore, and this is the most frustrating: if a woman truly values her job, she's not going to have sex with every one and get pregnant. People who believe that are ignorant. Period. There are so many women in the military who wait to have children until it works best in their career path and the idea that a man and a woman can't work together without having sex is, frankly, stupid.

Basically, in closing, get over yourselves. It is not your place to tell others what they want to do with their lives. If a woman wants to be in the 'front lines' she has just as much right as the men and you're doing more harm than good telling her she can't. If she can meet the standards that everyone else can, then she's good enough. Period.
Stop trying to keep our society backwards, especially with all of the cutbacks. Why not do the most with the soldiers that we have?
