Another cool shot from this morning's sunrise. Two interesting phenomena at play here...First of all, the thin layer of haze that was hugging the ocean becomes a several miles think layer when you look through it horizontally, effectively creating a giant neutral density filter that allows you to look directly at the sun. Secondly, the sun looks larger that it is because the atmosphere at this angle acts as a giant magnifying glass lens.
