    Hot spring

Do you know about hot springs? They are called “onsen” in Japanese. There are many good places we can enjoy hot springs in Japan. I’d like to introduce one of the famous places for hot springs in Japan. Do you know Kusatsu? It is located in Gunma prefecture. Kusatsu has many hot springs gushing out everywhere. I went to Kusatsu with my mother in fall、which was the first time for me to go there. After arriving, I was surrounded by the smell of sulfur and could see the steam of hot springs. We went to the center of Kusatsu which is called Yubatake. It is very famous as tourist spot and was very crowded. We enjoyed a hot spring for feet and could relax. After that we watched Yumomi which is the cultural behavior of cooling a hot spring to a comfortable temperature; it has taken place since in long time ago. To do this, girls use a stick while dancing and singing. It was very interested and so dynamic. We really enjoyed ourselves. Observers could participate in Yumomi, so I tried it. I thought Yumomi was easy because the girls were smiling and seemed to be enjoying themselves. However, it was very difficult for me. The stick was very heavy and it was so hard to raise and lower the stick because of water resistance, but I enjoyed it. Moreover, I thought it was a valuable experience. At night, we enjoyed the hot spring at our hotel. The view from there was fantastic, with beautifull colored leaves and a starlit sky. We could relax very well. I hope that I will visit Kusatsu again with friends.
