    Firefighter Football

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     gidthekid told me, 'I like that they also take safety into consideration but I'm concerned that because concussions are so frequent in football and that these guys have to take care of themselves essentially via their own medical providers and insurance policies, that serious problems may emerge. But so long as the NFL continues to address the issue of concussions, I think the Generals will get the information down the pipeline and let their players know that they need to remain safe for their time on the field and off. '

The DC Generals, a football team comprised of firefighters, police officers, state troopers and probation officers from the Washington DC and Maryland area, are practicing in harsh winter conditions.

Their season begins in April and as practices continue, they worry about the number of people that will commit and the safety of their players.
