Quadricycle and 4 Wheel Electric Bike Car draws appeal in USA & Canada.
Following Europe, Quadricycle and 4 Wheel Electric Bike Car popularity in America and Canada is also rising. Indians have gone a step ahead already formulating new regulations governing quadricycle micro cars.
Quadricycle, also designated as micro car or four-wheel electric bike car, was typically a pedal powered vehicle. However, manufacturers in Europe and USA developed new hybrid versions, propelled by electric and EPA approved small gas engines, for intra-city travel. These ultra light small vehicles are uncomplicated and inexpensive to own. Priced as low as a couple grand, Some were even seen displayed for sale at flea markets and 55+ communities in Arizona.
Adding a new personal transport segment between a sedan and a motorbike, the Microcar Co in Sri Lanka offers mini-van quadricycles. Aixam, Chatenet and Ligier in France, make “coupes”, electric and diesel powered quadricycles, respectively. Googly Car Co in Arizona offers hybrid and tribrid, multiple propulsion tumtumcar quadricycle with electric and gas engine, and optional solar power, at an amazing under 300-pound curb weight.
Optional features like roof are a definite plus, in addition to 4-wheel stability, for ones preferring more than two wheels for the ride. Power per weight of these micro cars also improves with the smaller size. Top speed is a maximum of 30mph, undoubtedly, very appropriate for short neighborly runs.
