Merchants Can Now Charge Transaction Fees

Merchants in 40 states can now charge the merchant fees they pay when you use your Visa or Mastercard credit card to purchase merchandise or a service. Up to 4%. Governments have been doing this for years so that the folks who use credit cards pay the processing fees and the taxpayers were not on the hook for them. Most merchants will not pass these fees on but do take care to notice if they charge you that. Debit cards are not affected.
