Local Wounded Warriors to Show Support at Rock for Troops 4 - Event at Trackside Station in East Stroudsburg This Friday
EAST STROUDSBURG, PA— The annual Rock for Troops fundraiser benefiting the Marines Helping Marines Fishing Tournament, an event for severely wounded warriors will hit a little closer to home this time around.
Local wounded warriors, U.S. Army Sgt. Gennady Vovchuk of Long Pond, Sgt. Dennis Leonard of Hummelstown, and Marine Corps Sgt. Zachary Stinson of Chambersburg will attend this year’s event. Rock for the Troops 4 will take place at the Trackside Station & Grill on Friday, Feb. 1 starting at 7 p.m.
Leonard and Stinson each suffered severe injuries to their legs from Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blasts requiring both warfighters to undergo amputations above their knees.
Entertainment for Rock for the Troops will be provided by local radio personality, Gina Crash of WWYY 107.1 the Bone.
Both Trackside Station Grill and Liquid Martini Bar which are two adjoining restaurants and lounges will feature food and drink specials all night long.
There will also be raffles to help fund the 5th annual Marines Helping Marines Fishing Tournament which will be held May 18 at Anchor Marina in North East, MD.
Event organizers and Marine Corps veterans Eric Kowa
l and Joby Poster hope to have more than 30 wounded warriors participate in this year’s tournament.
Donations and fundraising events such as Rock for the Troops help pay for two nights lodging, travel, meals, and fishing equipment for the wounded warriors and their families.
The Marines will be driven to the event in a limousine provided by Stroudsburg’s Limousines for Less.
