    Indignant Woodpecker

    This Lineated Woodpecker was less than pleased to have me floating past his home in the mangrove swamps of southern Costa Rica. Eco-tourism and birding are major travel draws for the country. They generate good employment opportunities for rural residents near preserves and parks.
