Naturalized citizens: Your thoughts on immigration reform

    12 years & still waiting-legally!

We came to the US in 2001 on a work permit. After 12 years we still don't have a green card, we still have to spend money & time with lawyers, our driving licences are stamped with 'TEMP. VISITOR EXP: XX-XX-XX' in big bold red letters. All our papers are up to date, but since there are only a certain number of green cards that can be issued a year, we may still end up waiting for another 10 years. We pay taxes, contribute to the economy & are law abiding. Fix the legals first & then think about the illegals because otherwise what is the point of legally coming here?
