Naturalized citizens: Your thoughts on immigration reform

    8yrs+ for Legal Immigration

Fix legal immigration before jumping on to fixing illegal immigration. I filed for my Green Card in Jan 2005. Its Feb 2013 and my application status still says "Initial Review". This is ridiculous. The answer I am given from USCIS for this is that there are only 4000+ Green Cards given each year to the category I am in. If that's the case - either USCIS needs to add more visas or not take any more applications if there are not enough green cards. People like me are left hangin. I have been $1400 every year to USCIS just to renew my work permit until I get my green card. Doesn't anyone see how broken the system is? Oh, by the way - I can not change employment either and keep my employer happy (bonded labor) until I get my green card or else my employer has the right to cancel my green card.
