100 places to eat like a local

    Off The Hook!

Recently my wife and I were in Panama City Florida looking for a place that the locals would eat at. There are plenty of touristy places to eat, we wanted to find the "secret" hangout! The we found it! Beck Street has plenty of great restaurants, famous even for one thing or another. But, if you go one street east of Beck and follow it till the end of the street you will find a Food Boat Restaurant by the name of "Just The Cook"! The boat sits in slip 85 at the St. Andrew Marina. The boat is actually a 25 foot long pontoon. They provide outside seating directly next to the Marina. We loved it. Palm trees a beautiful Marina, music and as the sign says "Great Food"! My wife ordered the Dorado Con Crema Fish Tacos and I had the Chipotle Honey Avocado Burger. I have never had slaw on a hamburger before and just had to try it. The best $9.00 I have ever spent! The slaw had a perfect balance of flavor and was a neat contrast to the hamburger. To top it off they serve all of their food with Truffle Oil Popcorn! My wife loved her fish tacos but I would go back each year for one of those Slaw Burgers!! Just the Cook, you are Off The Hook!!
