    Winter Storm Magnus Hits

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     DaElmersBack captured video of several inches of snow coating the streets and sidewalks of Iron Mountain, Michigan, on January 30. He says the snow was the result of the recent storm that hit the area. 'We normally get more snow earlier in the year, not this time. This snow came a little later in the year,' he said. He says most people in his area are welcoming the new snow. 'Snow is good for our area. It insulates the ground and keeps pipes from bursting.'

    Much needed snow has finally arrived in Iron Mountain, Michigan today. Over 6 inches so far and it keeps coming along US2 highway in town. Many snowmobile trails will finally be able to be groomed for travel by tourists and locals. Plus cross country skiers & snow shoers all across Upper Michigan will be in heaven as this fresh snow falls.

     

    Watch the snow plows do a final clean-up..
