Alleged Felon Evades Police
Meyer attempted to stop the vehicle, and Blinston allegedly sped away from him and drove to an apartment complex at 54 Grand Avenue. Sergeant Jack Storne reported that Blinston exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.
Multiple agencies responded to the location and initiated a thorough search of the apartments and a wide perimeter around the area. One woman who lives in the complex stated, “I was safe in my apartment.” She added that the police asked her if they could search her apartment and she allowed them to do so. Once the search was completed, they asked her to evacuate the building.
Officers were unable to locate Blinston. He is one of Butte County’s Most Wanted and is being sought for a felony warrant, charging him with violation of post release community supervision. He is 5'8" tall and weighs 185 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes. He is 29 years old.
It was discovered that the Lexus was stolen, and the owner apparently had to be called out of a Chico State class to come and claim the vehicle. Two firearms that had been stolen in Chico were found inside of the car. Another firearm taken in another Butte County burglary was also found in the car.
There were no injuries as a result of this incident. If you have any information regarding this crime or on the whereabouts of Blinston, please call the Butte County Sheriff’s Office at (530)538-7321 or (530) 538-7449.
