The Northerner is a Nigerian- Majority leader
The member representing Ahiazu Mbaise State Constituency, who is also the House majority leader of Imo State House of Assembly, Chief Mrs. Adaku Ihuoma has defended the cause of her sponsoring a Northerner to actualize his soccer dream abroad in place of her constituents, saying that the Northerner is a Nigerian too and cannot be denied because he is not from Ahiazu Mbaise which he could turn out to be if not treated badly.
The majority leader stated this while reacting to the newspaper publication that has described in a derogatory manner, what she has counted as her success in instituting the football cup competition she organized for her constituents last year.
“You were there when I flagged off my football cup competition last year with the aim of sponsoring the best player of the tournament to a football career dream oversees. The idea came because the Speaker had sponsored the Chief Whip and I who are in the House Committee on Women, Social Development and Sports to Man Chester last year from where I approached the white man to come for talent hunt in my Constituency.”
“However the organizers I contacted for the tournament who had trained the likes of Pepetua Nkwocha and Kanu Nwankwo who all put heads together, made the choice that to drill my constituents very well, they had to compete with the police college where the organizers were based. So when the white man who sponsored himself down here for the talent hunt finished watching the teams play, he chose the Hausa boy and have insisted on him, and sponsoring him all the way because height and age which is what the boy has above others matters a lot in European football these days.”
She explained and wondered how else she was expected to influence the Whiteman’s’ judgment when he knew what he wanted. She therefore encouraged the youths of her constituency not to be discouraged by enemies of progress as she still has other motivational programs for them.
