CNN PRODUCER NOTE     U.S. expat JimCA2 witnessed the moving final journey of Cambodia's late, beloved former king Norodom Sihanouk from the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh to his funeral pyre. The king, who died in October, was accompanied by monks, brass bands, regional dignitaries, family members and hundreds of thousands of Cambodians. Once the king's body reaches the pyre it will remain there according to custom until next Monday, when his relatives will set it alight.

The former King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihanouk made his final journey from the Royal Palace, through the streets of Phnom Penh to his funeral pyre this morning, February 1, 2013.
Under extremely tight security, the event was more widely seen through out the city on television. Unlike the return of his body from China about 3 months ago, attendance was limited, and many who had mourned him over the last 3 months were unable to access various areas of the parade route.
Those who were able to make it to the procession observed magnificent floats that accompanied him on this final tour through Phnom Penh's capital.
