Naturalized citizens: Your thoughts on immigration reform |
Bring more highly-skilled people and give them Green Cards in six years
It will take 15 years for some Nationals with Masters degree from a US university to get a Green Card. While it will take 35 years for thse nationals if they have BS degree. This is just unfair. America needs to allow more highly skilled immigrants to stay here. Only 10% of the total Green Cards are for highly skilled. The remaining are not based on skills.
Americans think that immigration issue is only about illegals. Legal immigration is so hard though all law-makers agree to it.
Green Card for higly-skilled should not take so much time.
Country cap for employment based GCs should be removed.
Dependents should be exempted from Green Card quota.
Before any illegal gets a Green Card, all legals should get GC first.
Those who do not have Green Cards do not buy houses, do no invest into USA and live like Second-class
