    Fountain Shadow in Missouri

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     DeSpirit shot these photos on February 2, at Anita Gorman Park in Gladstone, Missouri. "I am sometimes surprised at how the camera can capture very special angles and views that the human eye just can't imagine," he says. "That is always my goal to capture that "magic moment" and be able to share them with the world."

    Taking the CNN iReport assignment to heart, out early this morning looking for just the right spot to capture the 2013 Groundhog Day Shadow image. Knowing that seeing your shadow means six more weeks of winter, what better way to get "in the mood" than a semi-frozen fountain.

     

    As the sun was in and out of the clouds, one could make the case that there is room for error in that age old prognostication.

     

    This fountain is located just off I-29 and North Oak Trafficway on the Vivian Trail in Anita Gorman Park, Gladstone, MO.

     

    Temperature was only in the high 20's this morning, so this photo shoot was quick, but was also able to capture some very unique and spectacular images of the ice formations in the fountain.
