    Premiere event-screenings at the 12th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival

     
    The 12th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF) will take place between May 31 and June 9 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Then its 9th edition will take place in Sibiu, TIFF Sibiu, between 19 and 23 of June 2013. The biggest film festival in Romania promisses to conquer the audience in 2013 as well.. Tyhe organizers are planning a real cultural feast, from which the marathon-projections, the retrospectives, the new and unconventional sections, masterclasses, panels, exhibitions, concerts will not be missing.
    EducaTIFF, the educational project conceived for primary school and secondary scholl students, Let’s Go Digital, deducated for highscholl students whose passsion is film making, and Transilvania Talent Lab, the training platform for young professionals and amateurs in the field that has been successfully launched last year is continuing now as well.
    10 For Film, the program meant to promote new figures of the Romanian Film Arena will bring in front of the audience and of the cineasts present at the festival 10 actors who obtained remarkable results in theatre acting, but who have not had the chance to go on film ever before.
    At TIFF 2013, the spectators will be able to take part in the most passionate marathon-projections, in premiere in Romania. The Japonese master of suspanse , Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Pulse, Tokyo Sonata), will keep the audience on the excitment point for 270 minutes with his Penance/ Shokuzai. Miniseries. The mother of a girl who was killed 15 years ago starts ti search for her killer and visits the four friends who wiynessed her killing. Last year this fikm has been screened outside the competition at the Film Festival of Venice.

    Paradise, by Ulrich Seidl, a trillogy which checked the competitions of three big film festivals, can noe be watched in full at TIFF.
    The heroes are three women, the story of each being an occassion for Seidl ti explore different worlds.
    . În Paradise: Love (Cannes 2012), a woman travels to Kenya for sexual tourism, in Paradise: Faith (the Special Award of the Jury, Venice 2012) another one starts to preach Catholicism, and in Paradise: Hope (Berlin 2013), the third gets enrolled into a weight loss boot camp. TIFF will be the first festival, after Berlin, which will screen the entire trillogy.
    The fans of Takeshi Kitano films about Yakuza will be delighted by the Outrage marathon (2010) and Outrage Beyond, uts sequel from 2012. The first part, a violent immersion into the Japonese mob world, where Kitano is featured as well, was part of the Cannes Competition and had an amazing box office in Japan. Its sequel has been screened last year at the Venice Film Festival, both thrillers being wonderfully reviewed.
    Another novelty of the 12th edition will be The Day of Francophony at TIFF. On June 1 and 2, the audiebce as well as a jury made up of 5 cineasts from Cluj will see 6 of the francophone films included in the program of the festival. The Day of Francophony will be organised together with the French Institutes from Cluj and Bucharest and TV5 and will wnd with the „Bagdad Fantaisie”, cine-concert, orchestrated by the artist Sami Pageaux-Waro, with the images of the The Thief of Bagdad” mute classical movie ” (Raoul Walsh, 1924), starring cu Douglas Fairbanks., running in the background.
    The Supernova Section, dedicated to film that had a real international success, brings titles such as Après mai, the autobiographucal film of Olivier Assayas about the generations of 60’ and 70’, awarded for the screenplay at the Film Festival of Venice, Laurence Anyways, by Xavier Dolan, a thrilling and stylized love story, for which the actress Suzanne Clément was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award Un Certain Regard at Cannes, Like Someone in Love – the strange love triangle imagined by Abbas Kiarostami, and Foxfire, Laurent Cantet’s screening (Palm d’or for „Entre les murs”, 2008) after the novel of Joyce Carol Oates, screened at San Sebastian.
