This iReport is part of an assignment:
The war through your eyes: Iraq 10 years on |
Remember the Fallen
Lets take this moment to remember those men and women who didn't come home. Those 4486 brothers and sisters who charged forward, answering their country's call. Not a day goes by that i am not reminded of the sacrifices they made for their country. Regardless of how you feel about the Iraq war, never forget those that gave their lives because they believed in a higher purpose. These brave souls went headlong into battle never thinking of themselves, but only their fellow Soldiers and Marines. I was blessed to have served beside these fearless warriors knowing that as long as life still filled their lungs, they would do everything in their power to bring us all back. Sadly too many left loved ones behind, and we owe it to all of them to live our lives to the fullest.
To my Battle Buddy who didn't make it back, SGT. Jonathan "Madman" Lootens, i miss you brother. What little time we had together i will always cherish. Elementis Regamus Proelium
To SSG Rene Ledesma, i consider you one of the finest Non commissioned officers i ever had the privilege to serve with. I'll see you again on Fiddlers Green.
All gave some, some gave all.
