This iReport is part of an assignment:
Pain at the pump |
Marietta,Georgia out of Gas !!!
Well, I spent my day driving around trying to get gas, without standing in line for more than hour. I called my mom, and told her its déjà vu. I remember sitting in my parents VW bug waiting to get gas. Although the culprit at the time was OPEC, and not Ike I think I was about 4 maybe 5 years old when there was a fuel shortage. The lesson there to the American Car Makers was that bigger wasn't always better. It appears the lesson wasn't learned well enough either that or the people in charge now have no memory of the 70s. My mother agreed that something had to change, but whom and what could get it done. She asked if the kids were with me. I replied no they are at home with my gainfully unemployed husband. She sighed; yes that is a terrible part of déjà vu. If we never learn from history, we are doomed to repeat it. So that being case, will the next President, please come up with an energy plan that will make us less dependent on oil. Also, if we can fix the unemployment problem that would be great too.
