Burma's western state of Rakhine was placed in a state of emergency in June following the rape and murder of a Buddhist woman in May. In June I was at Shwedagon Pagoda in Burma's capital (Rangoon) when an impromptu peace protest started. A large number of monks paraded around the Pagoda before settling down in front of it to pray. This photo is representative of those monks taking part in the movement.
