White rice soup for lunar new year

The most famous holiday in Korea has come this week! Korean has celebrated lunar new year and it comes in this week.
I want to share what we eat in this holiday.

Ddeokguk(Rice-sake Soup) : This soup is most popular dish we have in new year holiday. it is basically hot soup with rice cake. Stock is made by simmering beef and it helps stock more rich and tasty. Then, put rice cake to the stock and boil for a while and finish!

Ddeokguk has special meaning for Korean.

Getting one more Ddeokguk means Getting one more age!

So, many Korean seniors ask to children "how many bowls of Deokgk do you have?" and that can be translated to "How old are you?"

I'll make Ddeokguk for me and my family, and get one year older having it in this holiday. :)

Wish you have Happy New Year!!
