    Der schmutzige Donnerstag (Fatful Thursday) in Freiburg, Germany

    As we are close to Season of Lent, in the last week before the Ash Wednesday, Germans, especieally the Catholcs in South Germany celebrates the Thurday as der schmutzige Donnerstag. In this special day, they have spcial traditional dress and chase away the Winter. The Winter comes to End from now onwards. Today, they will eat fatful foods and prepare themselves before Lent. They avoid Meat, Alkohol in the Season of Lent. In the traditional City "Freiburg" the colourful 'schmutziger Donnerstag' was celebrated with Joy. There was procession, Musik and celebration.
