Have you had an abortion? |

I had an abortion, and I do not regret it
While I wish my partner could have been by my side during my experience, I am thankful that I was in a country that honored my choices and decisions. The first nurse I met was kind and told me that under no one should ever shame me for my decision (within the medical community) and if they did, I was to tell her immediately. Her support meant more to me than I could have ever possibly known.
My abortion allowed me and my husband to continue school, learn to love each more deeply and travel the world before we became parents.
The next two pregnancies were planned, and I love being a mother. I know that my abortion has made me a better mother because I did not have the resources, emotional capacity or support network to provide for my family when I was in college.
I had my abortion nearly 19 years ago and I do not regret it.
